We asked Ladina Schopf – an interior designer, architect and the founder of LS Projects – for her suggestions on how to pick the right one. They weighed the capacity of storage as well as layout and energy efficiency, among other factors.

Inside the fridge, you’ll find 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment has 18.5 cubic feet, which is the standard for a French-door refrigerator at this price. It also has an adequate-sized icemaker that is tucked away in the left-hand door, although it’s not the biggest I’ve seen.

You can adjust the shelves in both compartments for the perfect storage solution. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive. The LED lighting adds a nice accent. The in-door storage bins have a third shelf which can be folded down to store tall objects. The drawers include temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. The drawers are easy to open and close however I found the plastic’s textured coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with the all the features you’d expect from a refrigerator in this price range with Wi-Fi and app support through GE’s SmartHQ software. The app is compatible with iOS and Android devices and allows you to control your refrigerator from any place around the world. It also has a lot of customization options. It will also send you notifications when the door is left unlocked, when the freezer or fridge requires defrosting, and when the filter requires a change.

It would be nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill which is an option that is available in other GE fridges that allows you to preset how many cups of water you’d like to dispense simultaneously. It does have an indicator on the fridge display to display how much water you have left, but it’s not as effective as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is a stunning piece of equipment. It’s designed to appear like a seamless piece in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a veggie compartment that keeps fruits and vegetables fresher for longer and two compressors for preserving food. The ice maker is one of the most efficient we’ve ever tested, and it produces a pyramid-shaped form of Ice with low use of water. This fridge is ideal for a single household or a kitchenette with a built-in appearance and top-of-the line food preservation.

This fridge was rated the best in our Refrigerators Test for several reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained stable at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit and never moving more than a fraction of one degree. This is crucial to preventing freezer burn. The fridge’s fridge section also performed well, reaching the desired initial set temperature within an hour and maintaining that temperature steady over the course of our tests.

Bosch is a household name known for its top-quality appliances. It’s therefore no surprise that Bosch counter depth refrigerator is one of them. Bosch counter depth refrigerator can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch’s Home Connect. This app allows you to control and monitor the refrigerator remotely using your tablet or smartphone. The fridge is expensive however, it offers excellent features and functions at a fair price.

It is crucial to be aware of the limitations of your fridge. It has a small shelf space, so you’ll need to be creative when storing tall objects. The shelves are also not impervious to spills and could easily be damaged or stained by sharp items. The LG LRFLC2706S is an excellent counter-depth refrigerator that packs plenty of storage into an extremely compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge has the standard French door design, with two rows of shelving with spill-capture and a set crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded in order to create more space for tall items. There’s also a full-width drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.

One of the great things about this refrigerator is that its ice maker is inside the freezer, which makes it easy to transfer ice into the fridge to use as required. The freezer has thoughtful design elements, for instance, sliding drawers that help better organize the position of items. It also has a large container for storing frozen food and a separate container for ice.

Smart InstaView panel is a cool feature of the refrigerator. You can control the temperature, lighting and other aspects of your refrigerator from your smartphone. It’s a great method of monitoring and managing your refrigerator, particularly if you’re away from home.

However, while the Smart InstaView is a neat feature, it doesn’t enhance the overall performance of the refrigerator. The fridge took a bit longer to defrost food and chill it than other models we tested. This is likely due to the bigger capacity.

The doors are another problem with this fridge. The sunken handles allow smaller people to open them from the bottom. However taller people will have a hard time closing them without slamming. It would have been much better if they came with a front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX is a excellent choice for those who want to combine the advantages of a French-door fridge’s aesthetics with an efficient layout. Its capacity is superior for a counter-depth model, and it cools well and has a nice layout. It’s also a little cheaper than the top counter-depth refrigerator that has an ice maker, which can make it an attractive option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you’re looking for an French door refrigerator that won’t break the bank, this Frigidaire is a great choice. It has a simple design that’s not as striking visually as some of the competition however it comes with enough features to make it a solid pick. Its most important feature, the temperature adjustable drawer, helps to keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also has a large water dispenser, as well as an excellent ice maker that operates quickly.

Another feature that is worth mentioning is the “Chill Drawer” that sits over the two crisper bins. This drawer lets you divert part of the refrigerator’s cooling power directly into this area, so you can put away food items that require special attention. You can alter the feature using an adjustable slider that is located just in the middle of the drawer. You can also adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I’ve noticed that the general settings work better than the specific ones.

During my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent across all areas of the fridge. The temperatures in the top, bottom and middle of the refrigerator didn’t vary much from 38 degrees. This is a solid performance, but does not quite make it to the top of our ratings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat to gain more precise information on the internal temperature of your fridge.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from grey-bodied stainless with a “smudge resistant” finish. It does a great job of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing, even compared to shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I’ve tried.
