French-door fridges combine functionality and form. They feature stylish double doors that reveal a large fridge on top and a freezer drawer beneath. These refrigerators stand out because of their distinctive features, such as door-to-door dispensers and more expensive Ice makers.

We asked experts like Ladina Schopf, an interior designer, architect, and founder of LS Projects, for tips on how to select the best french style fridge freezer one. They evaluated the capacity of storage and layout and energy efficiency, among other features.

GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The name implies that GE’s Profile series targets the consumer who wants to incorporate cutting-edge technology in their kitchen. This fridge is loaded with them, from an in-the-door Keurig K-cup coffee maker to a sophisticated water dispenser. But these flourishes don’t mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator’s freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. The refrigerator is expensive and I was expecting better.

This fridge is a great choice, despite the small blip. It has a large freezer compartment, which is uncommon in counter-depth French door fridges, and it holds a good amount of frozen food compared to similar models.

Inside the fridge, there are 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is roughly on the same as an French Door Fridge Perth door fridge costing this much. It has a decent-sized refrigerator with an ice maker in the left door. But it’s not the biggest one I’ve seen.

You can adjust the shelving in both compartments to create custom storage setup for what you want to store. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive. The LED lighting adds an attractive accent. The storage bins in the door come with a third shelf that can be folded down to store tall items. The drawers include temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage, or Deli settings. They’re easy to open and close, although I found their plastic textured coatings to be a bit hard on the fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator includes all the features you would expect from a refrigerator in this price range. It has Wi-Fi, app support and GE’s SmartHQ Software. The app is available on iOS and Android devices and lets you manage your refrigerator from anywhere around the world. It also has numerous options for customizing. It also alerts you when a door is left open, when the refrigerator or freezer needs defrosting and when it’s time to change the filter.

It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS came with Precise Fill, an option available in other GE fridges that allow you to choose how many cups of water you’d like to dispense at once. It does have a countdown feature on the fridge’s display to show how much water you have remaining, but that’s not as helpful as Precise Fill.

Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

Designed to look as a seamless element of your kitchen Bosch’s french door liebherr fridge freezer-door refrigerator looks seamless and is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a veggie compartment which keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer periods, and dual compressors to preserve food. The ice maker is one of the top we’ve tested and produces a pyramid-shaped ice with a low use of water. This refrigerator is the ideal choice for single household or kitchenettes who want a sleek design and top of the line food preservation.

The fridge was rated the best refrigerator in our Refrigerators test, for various reasons. Its freezer temperatures remained constant at just above 0° Fahrenheit and never fluctuated more than a fraction – this is crucial to prevent freezer burn. The refrigerator section of the fridge also did well. It reached the initial temperature within an hour, and maintained that temperature throughout our testing.

Bosch is a household name known for its high-end appliances. Therefore, it’s not a surprise that the Bosch counter depth fridge can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch’s platform Home Connect. This app allows you to monitor and manage your fridge remotely using your tablet or smartphone. The refrigerator is pricey however, it offers excellent features and capabilities at a reasonable cost.

It is important to know the limitations of the fridge. It has a small shelf space, so you may need to be creative when storing tall items. Additionally the shelves aren’t sprillproof and can be easily stained or damaged by sharp objects. It’s easy to remove the trays in the fridge, but be sure to keep them clean to avoid the growth of mold.

LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

The LG LRFLC2706S is an excellent counter-depth refrigerator that packs a lot of storage space into an extremely compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the refrigerator has the standard integrated french door refrigerator freezer 90cm ice & water-door layout, with gallon-sized door bins at each door as well as two rows of shelves that capture spills and a set crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded to provide more space for taller items. There’s also a full-width storage drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.

This refrigerator is equipped with an ice maker, making it easy to transfer the frozen ice whenever you need it. The freezer is designed with thoughtful elements, as well, such as sliding drawers that help to organize the place of your items. It comes with a large bin to store frozen food items, and a separate one for ice.

Another great feature of this refrigerator is its Smart InstaView panel. You can control the temperature, lighting and other aspects of your fridge using your smartphone. It’s a great way to control and monitor your refrigerator, particularly if you’re away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat but it doesn’t enhance the efficiency of the fridge. The fridge took a bit longer to chill food and defrost it than the other fridges we test. This is likely due to its larger capacity.

The doors pose a problem with this fridge. The handles that are sunken let shorter people open them from the bottom. However, taller people still have a difficult time closing them without slamming. It would have been much better if these had front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is a great choice for those looking to blend the look and feel of a French-door refrigerator with a more efficient design. Its capacity is superior for a counter-depth model, and it cools evenly and has a great layout. It’s also a bit cheaper than the most expensive counter depth refrigerator with an icemaker, which makes it an attractive option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you’re looking for an French door refrigerator that won’t cost a fortune, this Frigidaire is a solid option. It’s a basic refrigerator which may not be as appealing like some of its competitors however, it does have enough features to make a an excellent option. Its main feature is the adjustable temperature drawer, which helps keep foods like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also has a large water and ice maker dispenser.

Another feature that is worth mentioning is the “Chill Drawer” that sits over the two crisper bins. This drawer allows you to redirect the majority of your fridge’s cooling power to this area so that you can store foods that require extra attention. You can alter this feature using a slider that’s located right in the middle of the drawer. You can also adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I have found that the generic settings are more effective than the specific ones.

In my tests, I found that the temperatures in the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different parts of the refrigerator. Temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn’t vary significantly from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a good performance, but isn’t quite at the top of our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also connect this fridge to a smart thermometer for more precise readings of your fridge’s temperature.

The exterior of the Frigidaire is made from grey-bodied stainless that has a “smudge proof” finish. It is capable of repelling fingerprints and streaks even when compared to the shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I’ve tried.
