The fridge is equipped with 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment is 18.5 cubic feet, which is typical for a fridge with a French door at this price. It also has an adequate-sized icemaker that is tucked away in the left door, but it isn’t the largest I’ve seen.

You can alter the shelving in both compartments to create a customized storage arrangement for the items you need to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive. The LED lighting is a nice feature and the inside storage bins have an additional shelf that can fold down so that you can store large items. The drawers come with temperature controls, so you can set them to Beverage, Meat or Deli settings. The drawers are easy to open and shut, but I found the textured plastic coatings to be a bit rough on my fingers.

The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator comes with the all the features you’d expect from a refrigerator in this price range that includes Wi-Fi as well as app support through GE’s SmartHQ software. The app, which is available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in world, and it has a ton of customization options. It will also send notifications when the door is left unlocked and when the freezer or fridge requires defrosting, and when the filter requires a change.

It is nice if the GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill, an option available in other GE fridges that allow you to choose how many cups of water you’d like to pour out at once. The fridge shows a countdown to display how much water remains however it’s not as useful as Precise fill.

The LG LRFLC2706S is a top counter-depth refrigerator that packs a lot of storage in a compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. Inside, the fridge features a standard French-door layout with gallon-sized door bins at each door, two rows of spill-capture shelves and a set crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right side can be folded in order to create more space for taller items. You’ll also find a full width drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser.

One of the great things about this refrigerator is that the ice maker is inside the freezer, which makes it easy to transfer the ice to the refrigerator to use as required. The freezer features thoughtful design elements, as well, such as sliding drawers to help you better organize the placement of your items. It also has a large container for storing frozen food, and a separate one for ice.

Smart InstaView panel is another cool feature of the refrigerator. It lets you manage the refrigerator’s temperature as well as lighting via your smartphone. It’s an easy way to keep track of your fridge and manage it, particularly when you’re away from home.

The Smart InstaView feature is neat but it doesn’t improve the efficiency of the fridge. The refrigerator took longer to defrost food and chill it than the other fridges we test. This could be due to the bigger capacity.

The doors are another problem with this fridge. They have sunken handles at the front, which allows shorter people to easily pull them open from the bottom, however they’re not easy for taller people to steer shut without slamming them. It would have been better if these had front-mounted handles.

The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent choice for those looking to blend the aesthetics of a French-door refrigerator with an efficient design. It has a capacity that is higher than average for counter-depth models and also cools evenly. It’s also a bit cheaper than the best counter depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, making it an attractive option.

Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

If you’re looking for a French door fridge that doesn’t break the bank, this Frigidaire is a great choice. It has a simple design that’s not as striking visually like some of the competitors but it does have enough features that make it a great pick. Its main feature is the temperature adjustable drawer which helps keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a large water and ice maker dispenser.

The “Chill Drawer”, which is located over the two crisper bins, is a great feature. The drawer allows you to divert part of the refrigerator’s cooling power directly into this area, so you can put away food items that need extra attention. This feature can be adjusted by using a slider located outside the drawer. You can also adjust the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I’ve noticed that the generic settings work better than the specific ones.

During my tests, I found that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent in different areas of the fridge. Temperatures at the top and bottom of the fridge did not vary significantly from 38 degrees, and the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a great performance, but it doesn’t quite make it to the top of our rankings.

This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. The fridge can be linked with a smart thermostat to get more accurate readings on the internal temperature of your fridge.

The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF’s exterior is made of grey-bodied stainless steel with a “smudge-proof” finish. It is capable of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing, even compared to shiny stainless steel finishes on other appliances I’ve tested.
