Shark Robotic Vacuum Cleaner IQ Review
The IQ is a basic design that only needs you to push the power button to start cleaning, and then the docking button to send it back. It also comes with a self-emptying container that can hold up to 45 days’ worth of debris.
Its performance on floor that is bare is outstanding and it does a decent job with carpets that have low pile. It’s not as effective as the newer models which utilize laser mapping to scan rooms quicker and can also be used to support no-go areas.
Self-Empty Base
This dock automatically empties the robot’s dustbin, saving you from having to do so often. The dirt compartment can store up to 60 days of debris, meaning that you’d need empty it much less frequently than if the robot itself had a bin. This also means that you won’t be subjected to the fine dust clumps generated by the vacuum as it empty itself and is particularly beneficial if you have allergies.
Its maneuverability is excellent, and it does an excellent job of cleaning the floors in every room. It is able to climb over tassels on the rug and electrical cords without getting stuck. Its only real flaw is its performance on floors that are not clean. It frequently misses tiny particles and has difficulty clearing heavy objects from the intake opening. It also has a lot of parts that require regular maintenance and replacement, which could make it more expensive to maintain the ongoing costs of owning this vacuum.
This model has the capability to connect with the SharkClean App for more advanced control. This allows you to view the maps of your home, choose different cleaning modes and plan your cleaning schedule while away from home. You can also design virtual boundaries that block the vacuum cleaner from entering rooms it might damage or get stuck.
The app might not be the most intuitive, but it has numerous useful features. You can check your robot’s battery level, schedule a clean and view your cleaning history. You can also set a timer to start the vacuum mop combo shark automatically or choose the “Vacuum Now” option to immediately start a cleaning session.
Another great feature is another feature that is useful is “Dirt Detect Technology” which detects and adjusts to the flooring type it’s on, ensuring it doesn’t overwork or fail to perform. This can be a huge benefit when you have hardwood flooring and carpet in your home. If you have pets, you can also select a mode that will concentrate on removing pet hair off the floor.
HEPA Filtration
Depending on the specific model you choose, some shark mop and vacuum robot vacuum cleaners can come with HEPA filters that provide effective air filtration. These filters are particularly important in hospitals and clinics where there is a constant circulation of germs, and patients suffer from weak immune systems.
They can also lower the possibility that patients develop an infection in hospitals. These filters are also beneficial for those with asthma and allergies. The filters might not be able to completely eliminate allergens, but they will reduce the amount of dust or pollen in the atmosphere.
Shark’s Detect Pro robotic vacuum cleaner is the most advanced robotic vacuum currently available. It comes with a variety of innovative features. Its DirtDetect Technology, FloorDetect Technology, EdgeDetect Technology, and NeverStuck Technology all work together to ensure that no dirt is left behind. The Detect Pro can also navigate through stairs and furniture and it can be adjusted to different types of floors.
The Detect Pro is not as well-equipped to detect floors that are not bare like other models of the same brand. Additionally, the Detect Pro takes a bit of time to cost, and only has a two-star rating on Amazon.
There are a variety of other robotic shark vacuum vacuums available from shark vacuum and mop combo, including the Matrix Robot and the EZ Robot Self-Empty. The latter model has a large auto-empty bin which can hold up to 60 days of trash. It is also simple to empty. It comes with an odor neutralizer that can be washed and a filter to keep the inside of the unit clean and fresh.
The EZ Robot also has a useful feature that lets you program it to automatically return to its dock if it’s fully charged or requires recharge. The top of the robot has a light that shows the battery’s state. It’s initially white when the battery is fully charged and changes to red as it gets lower. The EZ Robot costs less than the shark robot vacuum and mop combo AI Ultra but does not have the LIDAR or automatic navigation features of the AI Ultra.
Scheduled Cleaning
Shark’s app lets you set up the robot to clean at times and days you decide. You can even schedule the robot to leave while you’re away, and return when it’s done. This feature is not offered in all models. It’s only a part of the IQ and other pricier models with smart features like mapping and multi-floor cleaning.
The IQ also comes with an innovative technology known as NeverStuck, which prevents it from becoming stuck and allows you to rescue it with a tap on your phone. EdgeDetect is another feature that allows the robot to clean corners by moving in a figure-eight fashion. It automatically adjusts the brush to match different types of flooring. The robot can also mop while vacuuming in VACMOP mode.
Although the IQ isn’t as expensive as some of our top-rated robotic vacuums it does have many of their smart features. It sports a sleek, matte-black design and a center control panel that’s simple to use. And its sensors keep it from bumping into walls or falling down a staircase, and also help it navigate around furniture.
You can set the robot to sweep your entire house or just a few rooms by using the app or a voice command. It can also save a map of your floors to ensure it covers all areas at once. The app also gives you an extensive report of how long the cleaning took and how it did. You can also alter or create no-go zones as well as other settings through the app.
If you prefer a less hands-off method, you can use the IQ without Wi-Fi or the app and hit the “Clean” button. But, you’ll need to empty the trash bin more often. It can hold 45 days of dirt and debris, which is a bit less than Roomba’s bagless bin. But the IQ’s affordable cost and intelligent features make it a great choice for busy families who want a hands-off option for their homes.
Portability
This robot vacuum and mop is compact and easy to store. It has a large dustbin that doesn’t need to be replaced frequently which saves you time and effort. The bin is easy to empty and the base has been sealed with HEPA technology to keep even the smallest particles within its system. This model includes everything you require, including a filter and charging dock.
This robot has a limited set of physical automation features and a relatively basic navigation system that doesn’t have the room mapping that is found in pricier models in the Shark lineup. It does not have the max-fill sensor nor self-emptying docks. It’s an excellent choice for budget-friendly robot vacuum that works well on bare floors and provides plenty of value for the money.
While the shark robot mop and vacuum ION Robot AV753 Series has superior performance over the RoboVac 30C that is eufy on floors that are clean but it’s not as good when it comes to pet hair and can be extremely demanding in terms maintenance requirements. The robot’s basic navigation system and navigation can cause it be unable to locate certain areas of the house. It can’t even climb or descend the stairs. In addition, the dustbin can be noisy and requires frequent cleaning.
The Shark EZ Robot Self-Empty base and the Shark AI Robot both offer excellent value for cost, but one could be more suited to your needs based on your preferences. The EZ has a larger dirt compartment, and it can move over obstacles like electrical cords. However, the AI is a full-featured robot with lower recurring costs, and is more effective on low-pile and high-pile carpets. If you’re working on a tight budget then the EZ Robot might be a better choice, since it comes with a generous return policy and doesn’t require an internet connection to run. The Shark AI Robot requires you to connect to Wi-Fi and uses internet connectivity to run.
