This lightweight pushchair from Ickle Bubba has a lot of features that parents will appreciate. It comes as a travel system, which includes a lie-flat carrycot designed for newborns, a multi-position forward and rear-facing pushchair seat, and a choice of a car seats, so you can have everything in one package.

The XL Air is a very impressive buggy. It’s easy to see why it’s received such high marks from its customers. It’s extremely light-weight – the wheels and chassis weigh just 6.5kg. It’s also very simple to put together. In fact I was able to complete the entire setup and running in just five minutes, which is pretty amazing considering that it also included a strapping of the fabric for the carrycot!

The seat is spacious and comfortable for Annie who is 12 months old. The recline lever was easy to use. There’s plenty of space inside the basket and I like the fact that it has a zip-up compartment in the handle bar so you can keep your phone and keys safe!

The handlebar is a bit low, which could be a problem for parents who are taller. It’s covered with soft, supple leather-like material, which is easy to wipe down.

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is designed for parents who enjoy exploring and are always on the move. Its large pneumatic wheels were designed to be used on field and forest paths, and the front 3 wheel running stroller can be swivelled and locked for extra versatility. The stroller also features 5-point safety harness with an adjustable front bar that will keep your child safe during all journeys. The parking brake keeps the stroller in place while you take a rest. The comfortable seat is simple to adjust down to a comfortable lying position, and the canopy can be opened to allow netting for optimum air circulation on hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm, to fit the needs of dad or mum.

The Runner will accompany you on all your adventures whether it’s a leisurely walk, a longer hike, or a long-distance walk. It has a fully-flat lay-flat seat and suspension air wheels for smooth and comfortable riding. The front 3 wheel bassinet stroller can be locked for greater stability on narrow streets or overcrowded sidewalks. The stroller can also fold up to fit in car boot spaces or storage spaces.

The Runner 2 is a bit more difficult to maneuver for some parents than its predecessor. Also, the locking system (requiring two buttons either side of the handlebar) isn’t as user-friendly. The handlebar is higher than some competitors and therefore it may not work for smaller parents but overall, it’s an extremely sturdy and flexible stroller worth considering for active families.

Red Kite’s Pace is a top product from the cost-effective British brand. They are known for their clean, well-designed products that are essentials for parents. It’s the most recent – and priciest – product in their bargain-priced lightweight stroller collection. It’s also as with the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo it’s car seat-compatible so you can use it right from birth (the carrycot folds away).

The new Pace has some fantastic design features, like a rose-gold tint on the hood, chassis, and stroller trims that truly set it apart. The grey, tan and cream fabrics in the stroller and the car seat are fashionable and there’s an option to add a co-ordinating leather cover handle and bumper bar as well.

It’s suitable for babies up to a max weight of 22kg and the stroller seat can easily be converted from a carrycot to the 2-in-1 reversible mode. It can be facing the parent or the world. The stroller seat features various lie-back positions, soft padded legs rests, and an extendable sun canopy that has zip-off sections that are concealed, a viewing see-through flap, and a retractable visor.

When folded when folded, the Pace measures 56 inches x 43cm and 32 inches, which makes it suitable for hand luggage on Easyjet and Ryanair. It’s also simple to fold, thanks to two buttons on the handlebar’s opposite side which just click in and out. Then, it will pop up.

It is a little bigger than most pushchairs, but it does not feel heavy or bulky when pushing over bumpy surfaces.

The seat fabric is machine washable, as are the frame and faux leather grips are simple to wipe down. It’s also quieter than other pushchairs, and I felt comfortable in the city streets. One of the advantages is that it incorporates accessory points, which means you can add footmuffs, parasols, changing bags and even a snack tray. You can also use the hood to block out rain and wind, though it’s not particularly waterproof. It’s a single pram, but you can attach their Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) to give your child some extra legroom. The bassinet took 20 minutes to set up and it took a similar time to convert it into a seat.
