Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Mulliner Bentley’s coachbuilding unit bespoke, has created a unique keycase to mark the 100th anniversary of bentley smart key. It is constructed of Dark stained Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes the flying “B” paperweight, keys, and an unreleased booklet with 1930s 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics

Design

In celebration of its Centenary, Bentley introduced a custom-designed specification called the Centenary Specification for cars built in 2019. The cabin features cross-stitching and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests and seats as well as other areas of the bently Car key. This adds to the celebration. Function

The Bentley Mulsanne Key features two buttons that open the trunk, and the second which starts the vehicle. The key also has a switch for turning on the parking brake. Each key takes about two days to create. It is cut by hand to shape, sewn sealed and polished to give the highest-quality finish. It is lightweight and durable and will fit the Bentley key perfectly. It is also equipped with Secure-A-Key that helps to prevent theft of keys with no key. This device is placed inside the remote control fob and disables it when the key isn’t used for a short period of time. It stops thieves from transmitting the key’s frequency to other devices that will allow the key to be opened and start the car.

Personalisation

Bentley’s Mulliner division allows customers to design their car. Bentley estimates it takes approximately 500 man-hours in order to create and put together the typical Mulsanne. One of the main reasons for that lengthy effort is a conscious refusal to embrace the latest technology. Instead of employing a machine for spacers to the perfectly-matched leather seats, workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Drivers must park their cars manually, instead of using the built-in sensors to direct them to perpendicular and parallel spots.

In the course of the event, Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization options with a special example – the Mulsanne W.O. Edition, which pays tribute to founder William Osler bentley car key. The 100 limited edition cars include the key, which displays an item from the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
