Line-up
The band’s third album, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet style of the previous albums. It was a stronger, more consistent effort with an edge that was stronger than Hydra. The more edgy sound of the album was a reflection of the maturation of the group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball’s greater proficiency on the drums, as well as an improved, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams.
