Mamas & Papas All Terrain Prams
An all-terrain pram is one designed to deal with rough surfaces such as cobblestones, woodland walks, and fields that are muddy. They are constructed with large rubber all-terrain tyres as opposed to regular pushchairs, which use tyres filled with air.
They are typically reversible (parent or world-facing) and can accommodate either a carrycot, or a car seat. They should be lightweight and easy to fold, so they can be used for travel.
1. Mama & Papas Ocarro
The Mamas & Papas Ocarro pushchair is a great choice for families seeking an infant stroller that can take on all terrains. It’s large and sturdy with dual suspension, large wheels, and a comfortable lay-flat seat for a comfortable sleep. It includes an holder for cups and rain cover and an umbrella for sun-filled outings. The Ocarro folds up easily and is easy to move. It takes just 5 minutes, and the handle has been shaped to provide the best control.
The Ocarro is equipped with a variety of features that will keep your baby entertained. These include head cushions as well as padded chest pads, and more. It offers various recline positions, including an upright position for safe naps while on the move. It can also be used with either parent facing or forward facing. It also comes with reflective trims and an integrated ventilation system to help baby stay cool and comfortable.
It’s a very nice style and the materials are luxurious. The brown leather trim around the handles and bumper bar was my favorite. It is heavier than other buggies we tried, but it feels like a quality product. This is a great pushchair to take to the park, strolls in the countryside, and getting on and off public transport.
The Ocarro is available as a four-piece pushchair or as a part of a complete travel set with carrycot and car seat (both sold separately). It is suitable for babies and comes with everything you require for those big adventures. The carrycot features a lie-flat setting and a apron that is magnetic, which can be folded away quickly and quietly. It also has a hood and air vent to keep baby warm in all weathers.
2. Cybex Avi
The Cybex AVI is a running stroller that allows you and your child to run in comfort. It has a unique front wheel that can be locked to provide stability, and it is extremely light and easy to steer. It can also be used to be used with any Cybex or gb infant car seat using the adapters available.
The Avi is also available in a “One Box” option, which includes the frame, seat pack and canopy all in one box. This makes it very easy to put together and will save you time and money.
This is a top choice for parents who are committed to their running and want to continue to be active with their babies. It is suitable for running with babies from birth, and can be used with any Cybex car seat or gb. It comes with simple and quick one-pull mechanism for tightening the harness.
It comes with a slim, air-filled tire design and a soft and adjustable sports seat. It also has reflective elements to improve visibility, and an XL sun canopy with UPF 50+ protection.
It is not recommended to use it on rocky or hard terrains, and there’s no reclined position available for newborns. It is only suitable to walk, not for running or jogging.
As a 3-time Olympic finalist, a two-time world champion finalist, Australian record holder and running coach at Gregson Running, Genevieve Gregson knows all terrain pushchair from birth about running and parenting. We asked her to test the Cybex Avi stroller and here’s what she had to say:
3. BOB Sport Utility
BOB Sport Utility is the perfect stroller for adventures outdoors off the beaten path. It has a fixed front tire to provide additional stability while walking or running. It also comes with pneumatic knobby wheels mounted on high-impact polymer rims and an adjustable handbrake for better downhill control. It is also easy to transport and store due to its two-step folding. This baby jogger also features an adjustable handlebar that can be adjusted to fit parents of all sizes as well as a large canopy that has a peek-aboo window so you can watch your child. It can be paired with a car seat for a baby to create the ultimate travel set-up.
The only drawback to the BOB Sport Utility is its maneuverability which earned it the score of 6 out of 10. This stroller can be difficult to turn in small spaces, such as shops and cafes, because it requires you to tip it back. The stroller is easy to push on flat surfaces, thanks to its great rolling and adjustable track.
This stroller comes with single-action brakes that are comfortable and to use for your feet. It also has a deceleration handbrake which helps you to slow down when running and reduces the stress of having to use your feet. The only drawback to this feature is that you need to remove the brake handle to activate it which can be a hassle when you’re on a run or in the midst of a rush.
BOB also provides accessory adapters to fit a variety of infant car seats on this stroller which makes it a great option for families with several children. It took us 5:24 minutes in total to put together the BOB Sport Utility, from unpacking to being ready to go.
4 wheel all terrain pushchair. Cybex Aton
Cybex is a brand known for its seats that are of the highest quality and feature easy to use features. This seat is no exception. It is among our most loved infant car seats. This is mostly due to its design and the fact that it can be used with most Cybex strollers as well as some from other brands as well to be used as a Travel System. This seat comes with excellent safety features.
In our infant Car Seats test, the Cybex Aton scored above average for both backward-facing and forward-facing installation as well as ease of use. It has a headrest that adjusts to 11 different height positions and a no-rethread strap to make it easier to keep the straps adjusted as your child grows. Cybex seats also feature a load leg on the base to reduce the risk of a crash causing rotation and an anti-rebound feature to keep your child in the middle of the seat.
The Aton is iSize-approved right from birth and can also be used in conjunction with Cybex Base M for an added level of safety. It also comes with an innovative linear side-impact protection that redirects and absorbs the forces from a collision. The Aton’s small shell might not fit compact cars like some other models. The canopy is small and it doesn’t have an open window.
Another downfall is the price tag. This is a very expensive seat and that’s not even taking into account the fact that it performed better than most others in our tests. There are many more excellent seats at a lower cost.
5. Mama & Papas Maternity
Mamas & Papas’ collection is based on real life and helps new parents thrive regardless of the stage of their parenting journey. They create products that combine functionality and style, with a strong sense of identity. Their own experiences of parenting, customer insights and rigorous testing at their UK test labs are the driving force behind their innovative products.
One of their most popular items is the Ocarro all terrain stroller pram – with superior comfort for baby it’s great to explore country parks or running errands around town. Dual suspension and sturdy rubber tyres offer a comfortable ride. The large, padded seat and chest pads, as well as the head-hugging pillows, enhance the comfort. Plus, its compact one-hand fold makes it easy to store or move.
The brand also designs nursery furniture, from co-sleepers and cots, to high chairs and booster seats. Their maternity clothes are fashionable and comfortable. The Luxury Maternity Bra in Slate is ideal for special occasions. It is a blend of satin and lacy fabrics, cute bow trims and cute bows.
Mamas & Papas has its pros and cons, just like every other product. The site of the company provides an array of products at a reasonable price and the selection is good. However, they’re known for poor customer service – issues can take time to resolve and they’re not always helpful or friendly. Many shoppers shop around before making an purchase.
