Volvo Key Fob Troubleshooting

Volvo drivers enjoy their key fob’s handy remote features. They can lock and unlock their vehicle or start the motor and even find it using an app for smartphones.

Place the fob’s face up on an uncluttered surface. Find the button that releases it, then wedge a coin between the fob and the cover and pull it up slowly.

Unlocking the Doors

Volvo’s remote key fobs will unlock the doors, tailgate, and fuel filler flap of your car with the touch of a button. The remote key fobs can also turn on the ignition and activate the alarm. They can even operate the sunroof when it’s equipped. With these options you’ll never look for your keys again or lock yourself out of your car.

You can remove it by sliding it downwards and then to the right. The cover will break loose, and then slide off, revealing the manual blade! If you are still unable to locate the button, you can search the newly revealed manual key access to see whether there’s a hidden slot or lever.

Close the Windows

One of the lesser-known features that is not visible on Volvo key price key fobs is the ability to open all windows instantly with the fobs. This is a great feature when trying to squeeze into a cramped parking spot, or even just when you need some fresh air inside the cabin while driving.

To unlock your Volvo you need to press and hold the unlock button on your Volvo remote for four seconds. This will lower all of the windows, and also the sunroof if it has one. After that, once you’re finished with the car you can lock everything by pressing the lock button again for four seconds.

You can also use your key fob to activate your car’s panic alarm. It will create a loud noise that will attract attention and deter thieves. It also helps you return home safely even if you’ve been out for the night. This feature is handy if you reside in an area that is dangerous, or want to protect your family while away from home.

Opening the Tailgate

Volvo’s key fob comes with a variety of useful features. These are perfect when you’re busy shopping for groceries or helping your kids to pack their sports equipment after practice.

For example, if you have the available Hands-Free Power Liftgate with logo projection and adjustable height (if equipped), you can open it by using the key fob. You can open the liftgate by pressing the button and then close it using the same button.

The Alarm is turned off

Modern key fobs provide many advantages over a standard mechanical car key. However, they’re not able to work in a perfect way for a long time, and their batteries will eventually fail. If you’re in a hurry, or aren’t keen on going to an establishment to have your key fob programmed, you can make it work at home.

Find a clean work surface and lay out your key fob, battery and other keys. Locate the small black button on the bottom left corner of the key fob. slide it to the right. The cover will fall off and reveal the mechanical key blade underneath.

You can open all the doors as well as the rear gate by pressing the unlock button on the fob’s keypad twice. The lock button also shuts the windows and the sunroof (if fitted) by pressing it for 2 seconds. Reconnect the battery and the alarm will stop. If not, the owner’s guide should contain a reset process.
